Why Chi Alpha?

Why am I in Chi Alpha? I have many reasons! The main thing I love about Chi Alpha are the relationships I've formed. It is awesome to know a bunch of people that I not only love to hang out, watch movies, do random crazy things with but who also care about my spiritual life. With the same friends I can laugh about how I slipped on the stairs and about how I'm struggling with dedicating time to prayer. As Ecclesiastes 4 says, we are not meant to be alone. Christ sent His disciples out in twos, followers met together, churches formed--all for a reason. We're meant to encourage one another, guide each other, pray together, serve together, etc. So take advantage of the body of Christ here on campus! It's in Chi Alpha that I have found people I can glorify God with, find wisdom in, and give wisdom to. We are each given gifts to serve the body, and this is the place where I can use my gifts and be blessed by other people's gifts.
The other things that I love about Chi Alpha flow out of those relationships. I joined a small group the beginning of my freshman year, which made all the difference in adjusting to college life. In small groups I really got to know people and experience the rewards of fellowship. I knew the leaders were always praying for me and I could go to them with any problem or biblical question and they would do their best to help. In small groups and at TNW the teaching impacted my life. I study the Bible on my own and learn from that, but God gives people the gift of teaching and lays messages on their hearts specifically for our benefit. When Mike or other people talk at TNW, the work of the Holy Spirit is so evident. I learn things that I couldn't have on my own. There are many other things that draw me to Chi Alpha, like the worship, service opportunities, events, etc. but the relationships and teaching have impacted me the most!
